2024 NZIPP Iris Awards Results

I am fortunate that celebrating a win at the NZIPP Iris awards with a scenic trophy photo has become a bit of a Janyne tradition. This year was a bit special so I added an extra photo of daughter Zoe and I at the awards dinner with the beautiful trophy for the 2024 Highest Scoring Entry (there were over 1200 entries!) which was a stunner of a result alongside being awarded Landscape Open Photographer of the Year.
It is great time to reflect on career and progress. As a kid who showed talent for nothing in particular, I truely appreciate every award I have gained (no matter how modest) and all of the opportunities that my photography career has given me. It is also amazing to start being able to share my knowledge and help people from all walks of life understand the value of photography as “real art” and help others with their own work particularly through my new and exciting role as an NZIPP judge.
The list of thank yous is long but I would like to give special thanks to my family especially very patient partner Deane and daughter Zoe who has been my plus one at several awards dinners. The other group without whose help this all would have never happened are my NZIPP mentors, sponsors, judges, organisers, speakers and individuals who are so generous with their knowledge and kindness.
